This places U.S.-Israel relations on a collision course that can only be averted if the United States abandons its delusions about Lebanon.

Israel’s survival clashes with America’s Lebanon delusions

Eyal Ozen was a 54-year-old farmer from Kibbutz Gesher Haziv in the Upper Galilee. He was killed by an anti-tank missile fired by Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon last Thursday while tending to his apple orchard.

Ozen was the fifth Israeli civilian killed along the border with Lebanon since Oct. 7. I think too much credit is given to the ability of Hezbollah to invade Northern Israel. The Israelis with just two brigades were able to hold off the entire Syrian army on the Golan Heights even though their air force was being shredded by Syrian air defenses such as the SA-6. Once out of their holes and villages, Hezbollah would be vulnerable. Rocket barrages are another thing and will present an ever increasing existential threat to Israel in the future. The Obama/Biden admin, like in Ukraine, is providing just enough aid and help, but keeping both countries on a tight leash. It will lead to a strategic defeat for both, Ukraine and Israel. This cogent fact against a backdrop of lifting sanctions and providing financial aid to the primary instigator of terror and instability in the Middle East and ensuring Russia is receiving top dollar for its oil and wheat. What can Israel do in such a quandary? All captured Hamas weapons should be stored in every kibbutz and settlement, with training, security. Secondly, under no circumstances should Israel give up its plan to eradicate Hamas in Gaza. Remember, the importance of deterrence. Enhance it!
