LASALLE, Ill. - The shelter-in-place that was issued for La Salle residents after a major fire broke out at a rural chemical plant, prompting the plant's evacuation, was lifted at 5 p.m. Wednesday. The blaze broke out around 8 a.m. at Carus Chemical at 1500 8th St. in La Salle, La Salle Fire Chief Jerry Janick said.-- More...
