Labor Day Reflections

During these apostate times Catholic priests seem to have made a habit of tying national holidays in with their sermons, which is absurd since national holidays are not connected with the liturgical calendar. It indeed is odd to hear sermons that revolve around holidays that have nothing to do with the Catholic Faith.

For instance, on Labor Day 2026, one cleric said that the 1 “bread and wine” we receive at Mass is “the work of human hands.” He put across the idea that our purpose on earth is to clock in each day and live for our ‘9 to 5’ job and that according to how hard we work we will be rewarded in the next life. Some people actually believe this, but Christ never said such a thing. What he did say is that we cannot live for God and mammon.
