"Life is tough! It's tougher if you're stupid!" These are the immortal words of that great philosopher Sargent John M. Stryker USMC (John Wayne) in the movie "Sands of Iwo Jima." There is a tremendous amount of wisdom in those few words. Those words impart even more wisdom if we paraphrase them in a couple of ways.
Life is tough! It's tougher if you're ignorant! For the last 30 years, the Marxist American education system has be turning out high school "graduates" that are functionally illiterate. The system values student self-esteem rather than an education to assist them in being productive, knowledgeable American citizens. A high school diploma is now nothing more than a participation trophy, not a document that demonstrates actual capability and accomplishment.

When my children were at school 0ver forty years ago they used to tell parents to teach math, reading, spelling, and I found out our history too as the older teachers would say they no longer are learning these things in school, so I did and I worked full time. I realized school back then was a joke, what was it for? If you questioned you were given ridiculous answers here in Canada when I asked why no history, well true Canadian history insults the French? Or my son has no text books he said he was supposed to share them with other students but they are wrecked pages missing? Well they do not put enough money in the education system which I knew was not true etc. just the "teachers" and their Unions were making a fortune off the tax payers never mind when no one answered the phone and you went over there to talk all the classrooms had no teachers and were going wild some of the older kids told me they were all in the teachers room taking their break as usual? What we are calling schools are no longer schools, what are we paying them for?
