One of the world’s largest photovoltaic power plants has started full operation in San Luis Obispo County in California. The 250 megawatt solar power plant received a hefty $1.2 billion loan guarantee from the U.S. Department of Energy(i) for a project whose total cost is estimated at $1.6 billion[ii].
