The elderly man robbed and assaulted at a Norcross-area McDonald’s last month has died, and murder charges against the man accused of attacking him are now being considered.
At about 1 p.m. on Feb. 28, 74-year-old Frederic Cooper entered the restroom at the McDonald’s restaurant at 1650 Indian Trail-Lilburn Road. Gwinnett County police now believe it was 50-year-old Lilburn man Donald Manuel Thomas who followed him in and attempted to pull his wallet from his pocket.
Cooper reportedly resisted and Thomas responded by knocking him to the floor, snatching the wallet and fleeing on foot.
