It is apparently not enough for Barack Obama to shutter coal-fired power plants throughout the nation due to EPA’s so-called Clean Power Plan and other measures like the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards. These and other policies have already caused several coal companies to declare bankruptcy with thousands of coal miners losing their jobs, but now the President is going to make coal on federal lands outrageously costly to lease.
