What’s your choice going to be? Will God and country be number one for you?

Open letter: To the Republican leadership, or perhaps, should I say, lack of leadership in the US Congress?

To the Republican leadership, or perhaps, should I say, lack of leadership in the US Congress?
US Capitol, Washington, DC September 29, 2022 Wake up and smell the coffee. Can’t you see what’s happening in our country? We elected you to do precisely the opposite of what you are doing. Your priorities should be God, country, community, family, and self. In that exact order. I believe that’s what Tom, George, Ben and the guys that got together in 1776 decided that America was supposed to be. A country made-up of strong individuals, coming from different phases of life, working together to construct legislation that benefits everyone.

Pray to God for his help. Why? Because, with God all things are possible. Conversely, without God we will fail. It is just that simple. Get off your # and get on your knees. ALL of us!

This is one of the best articles that I have seen in a long time. The problem is that our government labor force (elected and non-elected) is not responsible to the citizens for spending money that they do not own.

I think we should all be writing beautiful letters like you have. I hope enough of these bought out disrespectful "me first" Politicians will read them.

the government is what it is....an ugly morass of opposed narrow vested interests all competing against each other for money....i don't think patriotism enters into it....government is just another day job for 99% of those on the payroll.

i doubt that it can be any different.....govt is where the money is....govt has a pot of $4 trillion cash in taxes every year for which they make no product and have no liability....and everybody is drawn to this enormous mountain of cash trying to pry away as much of it as they can to stuff into their own pocket....they mumble a few words about country and flag and voter and service occasionally between big bites of cash.

Its not a lovely vision of higher purpose and divine providence, its a dirty grubby roll in the mud for an easy payday and an affluent life without actually producing anything or needing to be responsible for anything.

that's the nature of the beast....i don't see how or when it was ever different....i complain as much as anybody but i also accept that you can't have a big barn that raises a million chickens without every time you go inside you are overwhelmed by the nauseating stench of a million chickens.

Politicians are the bed some res of the civilized world. Jefferson and other recognized that, without term limits, a professional class of politicians would eventually control the government. Hamilton et al also recognized this as being the road to riches so Hamilton persuaded Washington to send Jefferson to France so he was out of the country when term limit were discussed. The Federalists got term limits quashed but were forced to accept the Bill of Rights limiting the power of the Federal government. Look at the Constitution and think about what our Country would be like without the Bill of Rights.

I'm guessing that the writer has not been paying attention for the last 30 years. This is a repetitive problem that the Republican Party in government has. Everything written here has been festering since the Clinton Administration. I can't believe that no one noticed it then, or at least by 2000.

AS IF the GOP would EVER do the right and just thing by Americans.

IT IS ALL ABOUT THE BENJAMINS TO POLITICIANS.
