Chicago’s spike in carjackings has some residents so rattled that aldermen are working with private security to make sure residents can pump gas in peace.
South Side Ald. Stephanie Coleman, 16th, said one of her residents was carjacked at a gas station on Christmas Day, which inspired the idea to hire local security to provide a safe place to fill up “because people are afraid to get gas no matter what time of day of being carjacked.”-- More...
