Louis DeJoy is the current Postmaster General. He is an American businessman currently serving as the 75th U.S. Postmaster General. He was appointed in May 2020 by the Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service (USPS). Before his appointment, he founded and served as the CEO of New Breed Logistics, a logistics and freight company.
DeJoy is the first postmaster general since 1992 to have no prior experience with the United States Postal Service (USPS). He is also the first postmaster general in U.S. history to come directly from the board of a private competitor of the USPS, which operates as a public-private partnership. This connection has raised concerns about potential conflicts of interest, as his companies still hold active service contracts with the USPS.
