All three incidents offered perspective, appreciation and a column reminding me that losing everything we love to the final arbiter that is death is precisely what makes the Good News—good;
There is a certain strange clarity that comes from hearing, more than once, that people thought you were dead. Most will never be the subject of a mistaken death, yet somehow, I have managed to collect three such times when the world briefly believed I was history.
