I'll be sixty years-old in April, 2026. This by no means confers saintliness upon self-described 'recovering grouchiness'. Far from it. It does mean another milestone approaches. And with it, required reflection:
My folks wanted a 'normal' child. Someone who'd ideally follow in the family tradition of being a public educator. A bookworm from birth, my young mind was full of history and heroes, along with every other topic under the sun. Truthfully, it still is, though less innocent these days.
