That year, as Barak sought to sell the public his plan to give the Temple Mount to Yassir Arafat and Judea and Samaria to Arafat’s terror armies, he presented the option of signing a mutual defense pact with the US as a reasonable payoff for Israel’s sacrifice for peace.
