Many of us have fallen for an internet "free trial" scam. A slick webpage makes a big promise: “free access, zero risk, just sign up right away!” No one reads fifty pages of fine print. But thirty days later, odd charges start hitting your bank account. First it’s $19.99 a month, then service fees, surcharges, and upgrades. When you finally realize the product is worthless and try to cancel, you discover the system is rigged to keep billing you forever.
