One thing that puzzles people when a horrific act of evil is committed, is that often the perpetrator seems unmoved. In "Cries of the Heart"[1], Ravi Zacharais recounts the capture of Adolph Eichman by the Israeli Mossad, spearheaded by Peter Malkin. He, himself, had lost many relatives in the holocaust, including his sister and 6-year-old year of nephew. While surveilling Eichman, he saw that he was greeted daily by a 6 year-old child. As it turns out, the child was Eichman's own son born in Argentina. In a solitary moment, he asked Eichman, who cared deeply about the boy, how he could just kill a boy like his nephew. He responded "But your nephew was Jewish, wasn't he?"
