As a retired teacher with over 30 years in the classroom, I am both chagrined and embarrassed by the actions of my fellow teachers and their union executives. To listen to the union leadership you'd think that our education system is only set up for the benefit of the teachers, the students can go to hell, when it should be the other way around.
It is a fact that 95% of all political contributions by the teachers go to Democrats, therefore they hold a very large cudgel over the heads of the Democrat politicians by proclaiming to the politicians that they must “carry the water” for the teachers and their unions or lose their support. The teachers unions are the biggest financial and physical supporters of the Democrats, and they expect to be taken care of.
