There were three news items in that interview with commerce secretary Howard Lutnick.

Number one: He recognizes an election coming in 90 days in Canada, wants a new federal leader, would rather negotiate a pan-Candian deal versus province by province as he's doing now.

Number two: He wants to bring down the heat and the rhetoric right now between Ontario and the US. Smart move, because Ontario is a very important partner in terms of trade to 17 different states.

Number three: Which I find so interesting, is I heard the first cracks with Howard of saying, "What if we merged the economies?" The merging of the economy is an obvious huge opportunity to, to ward off China, and that's the beginning of that road.
