I'm not sure what you think the government does, but for the most part it's still doing it - no matter how convincingly you've been led to believe we're in the midst of a "government shutdown." This is actually Chuck Schumer's fondest dream: While people are freaking out about government stopping, and blaming Republicans for it, government rolls on.
