God Almighty! Any war with Russia will go nuclear.

When you have mad creeps like Putin on the loose sometimes unsavory situations engulf you, especially when you try the dodge. Whining and bleating 'Where have we gone wrong?' won't save you.

The decision to send Abrams are more to provide cover for the other European countries to send Leopards, in the hundreds. You've got Spain and even places like Portugal pledging some. According to various military bloggers, it's going to take at least until April/May (at the soonest) to set up the logistical tail to support them and get them to the Front. The Abrams, being even more complicated, won't show up until late summer/early fall. There is a massive Russian offensive being planned in the spring---the Bradleys and light armor provided by France may help with Uke counter-attacks, but this could turn into a race for time. The Uke's may have to give up ground to trade for inflicting as many casualties as they can on the Russians. Given the realities, a wise move. But look for the groaners to say the Ukrainians are losing, just as they've been saying since last February.
