US to Suspend Immigrant Visa Processing for 75 Countries

Somalia has been in the spotlight recently amid welfare fraud in Minneapolis, much of it allegedly committed by members of the Somali community


WASHINGTON—The United States is pausing immigrant visa processing for 75 countries, the State Department told The Epoch Times.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed the development in a post on X on Jan. 14 and linked to a report from Fox News, which first reported the move.

The suspension takes effect on Jan. 21.

The State Department said in a statement posted on X that it “will pause immigrant visa processing from 75 countries whose migrants take welfare from the American people at unacceptable rates.” ---More...
