Where Did the Wonder Go?

Where did the wonder go? When did you notice that you had wonder? Was it when you were sitting on the grass under a tree? Was it when you looked up at the sky? What was it that captured your mind? When and why did you stop to smell the roses? When did we wonder and when did we lose it?

Life is so busy and hectic. It is taking us for a ride. Sometimes it is as if we are just back-seat drivers and we are on automatic drive. The faster we go, the less detail we can absorb. We can turn our heads to see a beautiful grove of trees, but there is no time to really look at them. There is no time to get caught up in the random beauty of it. Besides flying by in my car, I have things on my mind. How soon will I get there? Did I forget to close the garage door? Or maybe I am listening to the radio. There is a song from my teen years. Great job taking us to places we forget about too easily. I hope we see more of your thoughts and wanderings. Thank you for this.

Beautifully written. Love your detail's, That is what we miss sometimes as we get busy with life. The good thing is we get older to enjoy the rose's of God. God is the great artist. He creates beautiful paintings for us if we would take the time to small the rose's of His creations . the Awesomeness of God's hand is to wonder!

I thank you for this, lovely reading. This is why to me since I was very young it is so important to garden and pray.

Dear Centrewing, This is why I do not believe you can live in harmony with the earth (farming, ranching, nurseries, etc.) without sensing God's hand in life and giving Him the glory. Thank you for your comment.

Thank you for this beautiful reminder to "stop and smell the roses." Your thoughtful reflections resonated with me. Now in my early 70s I have the time to do that. Maybe this is what compensates for growing older and all the losses that we experience...simply by living longer. We have the time to notice, appreciate, and savor God's magnificent creation.

I hope you'll continue to write.

I truly enjoyed reading this article. Barbi captures the thoughts and feelings most of us the same age have experienced. She has a profound talent at pairing recall with verbal expression. Her grammar and syntax are both impeccable. Barbi, I encourage you to continue to write, and I look forward to future articles. Thanks, Mike.
