A woman was charged with swindling $63,000 of an insurance payout meant for a 75-year-old woman who lost her home last year in the California Camp Fire.
Brenda Rose Asbury, 29, of Oklahoma, turned herself into Butte County authorities on Tuesday for the alleged scheme. She was charged with elder abuse, embezzlement and grand theft.-- More...
