Arctic Sea Ice Stops Another Ship With Climate Change Warriors

Arctic and Antarctica sea ice 7, ships of fools 0

Erofey Schkvarkin, clearly has a sense of humor. He says: “Something is very wrong with Arctic ice. Instead of melting as ordered by UN/IPCC, it captured the ship with Climate Change Warriors.” Arctic Sea Ice Stops Another Ship With Climate Change WarriorsArctic tours ship MS MALMO with 16 passengers on board got stuck in ice on Sept 3 off Longyearben, Svalbard Archipelago, halfway between Norway and the North Pole. The ship was on an Arctic tour with a climate change documentary film team, and tourists, concerned with climate change and melting Arctic ice. All 16 climate change warriors were evacuated by helicopter in challenging conditions, all are safe. Seven crew remain on board, waiting for Coast Guard assistance.1
This isn't the first time something like this has happened. On July 31 we reported, Norway's most advanced polar research vessel ended its summer expedition to the Arctic early after thick ice prevented the Kronprins Haakon from reaching the North Pole. 2 Others beside these two have run into similar problems. Since 2017, at least six ships have run into a similar problem, one of these in Antarctica.3 Perhaps before starting on these ill-advised trips, folks should check with the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI). This organization reported that since 2010 (i. e. 9 years ago), the sea ice areas of the Arctic have been growing in trend. 4 One reviewer comment sums this up well- “Is this going to be an annual rescue? These fools need to pay for the resources (and carbon) used to rescue them.”5
