I recently visited with the publisher of a local county focused publication in my community. I suggested he review some of the writing I have done for the Canada Free Press as a way to have a flavor of what I do as a writer. He gave me some feedback that I found valuable, and this feedback has led to this article. I’m not certain my goals for writing are fully understood, and I’m feeling that this may be true with the writing that many of us do as conservatives and patriots.

As I look at what we present in the Canada Free Press and in all of the conservative and patriotic media I follow, I see our efforts are to present truth and facts as we are best able to discern them. We then rely on common sense and logical reasoning for the general public to come to, what is obvious to us, a logical, reasonable, and rational conclusion. We feel that facts speak for themselves. That works for those of us in the choir. Not so much for those in the pews.
The thing we have missed as patriots and conservatives for the last 100 years (and the Marxists understood and wildly exploited) is that we must be educators. Nobody can change anything by simply presenting facts and allowing those facts to speak for themselves. Human beings simply don’t learn that way. Most human beings hear or see something, consider how it might or might not impact their lives today, and then respond accordingly. Most human beings are playing a short game in regard to most things in their lives. The Marxists exploited that human characteristic by capturing America’s education system and then stopped teaching the most critical skill a human being needs, the ability to think critically. In 2022, like it or not, the Marxists own America’s education system.

Every day we see evidence of a lack of critical thinking skills by the talking heads on television and in most print publications. The Marxist brainwashing started there, and now with damn few exceptions, we get nothing but Marxist Democrat propaganda spewing out of too many media outlets. That is the result of many years of effective Marxist’s “education.”
The reason I have taken up writing what I write is my attempt to educate the people with open eyes, ears, and minds. As an educator, I understand that if I teach someone something new today, a week from now as much as 90% of that information will be forgotten. That is just the way we human beings are. If I repeat the lesson daily with adding material each time, in a week they will likely retain the material forever. If I only repeat and add material every third day, in a week humans will generally retain 75% of what was provided on the first day. Education is like a good speech. Tell the audience what you are going to tell them. Then tell them what you want to tell them. And finally, tell them what you told them.
The Marxists understand that if America is united, they fail, and if America is divided, they win
Some may challenge the assertions I have made above. This approach to education has been working with extreme success in military aviation training for 100 years. They have taken high school graduates and turned them into extremely proficient combat pilots in less than a year. This required only daily training day after day, teaching human beings using the way they learn best. This kind of repetition applies to all skills needed by the military. In contrast, a civilian trained pilot, flying only once a week, will take several years to reach a similar level of skill as the military pilot.
As conservatives and patriots, we writers must make sure we are providing effective educational information for our readers. We must present information and repeat as necessary. We must also try to motivate our readers to share information not only with likeminded friends and family (the choir), but with as many people as possible (in the pews). Our American culture is being systematically dismantled by lies and disinformation and we are losing ground fast. We have to reach the people who are choosing the easy way to begin looking at the long term. The me, me, me system will fail miserably as have all such systems failed in the past. The system of individual liberty is a “we and us” system where we all focus on the common goals of our whole culture.
The Marxists understand that if America is united, they fail, and if America is divided, they win. Every day we see that the evil Marxist Democrat Party and their minions are totally focused on, not only keeping us divided, but making every effort to divide us even further.
We, as educators, must do our best to turn the light on these cockroaches by keeping our readers informed and urging them to spread the word to the Marxist Democrat useful idiot minions that blindly follow their orthodoxy. Somehow we must reach the eyes that don’t see and the ears that don’t hear and incite a revival of the critical thinking, logic, and reasoning skills that built America and the Free World in the first place.
I have a dream that patriotic conservative Americans can play the long game better than the Marxist Democrats. I have a dream!
After a 55 year career as a professional pilot in the military, in law enforcement, in the private sector, and in federal civil service, I am now retired.
