(K)New-Some Proves He Knows Nothing

Gavin Newsom should live in a garage in a blue box, because he is the ultimate liberal tool. This is a dictator that has reigned over the demise of one of the largest states in our country. There was a time that I viewed politicians like Newsom as clueless clowns, then I realized that none of what they do is done out of being naïve. I’m not saying that they aren’t naïve, they are totally clueless about most things, what I’m saying is that many things they do are done deliberately as they feign being naïve.

On a zoom call this week, Newsom himself gave a perfect example of what I’m saying. He recounted a time when he was waiting in line at a Target store and watched as a shoplifter walked out of the store with stolen items and no one attempted to stop him.

According to Newsom, when he reached the cashier and was checking out, this conversation took place:

“As we’re checking out, the woman says, “Oh, he’s just walking out, he didn’t pay for that,” Newsom recalled. “I said, ‘Why didn’t you stop him?” She goes,
    “Oh, the governor.”
“Swear to God, true story, on my mom’s grave,” he added, seemingly astounded that the clerk didn’t recognize that she was talking to the governor.
“The governor lowered the threshold, there’s no accountability,” Newsom recounted the clerk telling him.
“I said, “That’s just not true,” the governor responded.
“I said, ‘We had the 10th toughest … $950 is the 10th toughest in America,” he said, referring to the threshold at which property theft becomes a felony.
“She didn’t know what I was talking about, by the way, it’s the 10th toughest in America. Look it up,” Newsom said. “No one gives a damn about that.”

But the clerk went right back at him saying, “We don’t stop them because of the governor.”

Just then, she suddenly realized that she had been speaking to Newsom himself, and she asked to take a photo with him.

“I said, “No, I’m not taking a photo, we’re going to have a conversation with your manager,” Newsom said.

“How are you blaming the governor?” he asked, looking offended.

“I was like, “Why am I spending $380 when everyone can walk the hell right out.”

As you read that conversation understand these facts. When this fool brags about the $950 limit he is saying that a person can steal up to that amount before the crime is considered a felony. Several states have a threshold of $1,000 and above, so Newsom is acting like that makes California’s $950 threshold a tougher law.

Seriously, what’s the difference? No one should be allowed to steal anything, far less $950 worth. As far as setting a limit to where the crime moves from a misdemeanor to a felony, that dollar amount is much too high. A tough law would be to set the limit at $100, and then enforce it. Newsom and any other states that set the limits that high are setting retailers up for failure.

I have heard stories about entitled criminals entering stores with calculators, so they stay under the felony limit. That is not fighting crime.

The other major problem is the criminals aren’t being punished. According to KABC-TV, after Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon was sworn into office in 2020, one of the first statements he made was to promise not to prosecute a wide range of misdemeanor offenses.

Following Gascon’s lead, many other woke judges across the liberal state have taken the same stance, thus creating a systemic problem where the police don’t even bother arresting criminals because they are simply being released.

In a sense, California voters did this to themselves. In 2014, they voted for proposition 47. Prop 47 turned some nonviolent property crimes into misdemeanors. It also made some simple drug possession offenses into misdemeanors. It also provides that past convictions for these charges may be reduced to a misdemeanor by a court. Under Prop 47, you may qualify for a reduction from a felony to a misdemeanor for some of the following offenses:

  • Certain Forgeries
  • Commercial Burglary
  • Petty Theft with Priors
  • Bad Check
  • Grand Theft Crimes
  • Possession of Stolen Property
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance

Obviously, California residents are liberal. That’s how fools like Newsom get elected. However, at this point if Newsom is a true leader why hasn’t he confronted prop 47 head on after seeing the damage that it has caused? Instead, he is seeking new legislation to crack down on property crimes while stopping short of asking voters to reconsider Proposition 47. Not only that, he also threw another log on the retail theft fire with a new law.

Senate Bill 553, was signed into law by Newsom last year. According to KSBY-TV, the legislation prohibits employers from asking employees to stop shoplifters.

I know that there are some of you that will agree with this. That said, all this does is open the door wider for theft. It further emboldens the thieves, and the result has been countless businesses have been forced to close because of the massive losses due to theft.

In the not-too-distant future, a tipping point must be reached and the rights of the innocent need to take priority again. Yet, as long as ne’er do well clowns like Newsom, Gascon and other liberals remain in office, it won’t happen.

The solution is simple: VOTE THEM OUT!
