Well I can’t really answer that because it’s a trick question. The Dems would never ever under any circumstances give every citizen $50 much less $5,000 because that cash would effectively be coming out of their own pockets.
Which is one reason President Trump tied the payment to Republican majorities. No way in hell the Dems would allow these “dividends” or any other payment. Of course Republicans aren’t exactly a slam dunk but at least there’s hope.
And I don’t know if it’s so much a bribe as a necessity if President Trump wants to actually give the people dividends. Our government is set up so Congress holds the purse strings and they currently have a death grip on that purse.
Of course even if we get a Republican House and Senate and even if they approve the dividends the Dems won’t just let it pass. They’ll probably find a judge to declare payments made directly to the American people unconstitutional. Then it will have to go to the gods in the Supreme Court to decide if we can get back some of our own money or not.
And yes, it’s our money. Government is a trustee of those funds.
Yet our Congress thinks of the trillions they appropriate in taxes as their personal accounts to spend as they please. No accountability to the people. But it’s not just Democrats who want to stop these checks. Many Republicans are also a “no” vote to give money directly to the people. Several GOP Senators and Congress members have voiced opposition to the payment.
So these Congressional grifters who print trillions in new money every year are suddenly worried about inflation? No, the only time they care about inflation at all is if they can use it as an issue in an election, against the other party.
As far as the national debt goes President Trump has said this payment is a dividend, from tariffs, new business. money recovered from government waste and fraud. Actually our money, income for the people.
But my favorite, the argument I love is that this cash handout would lead to socialism. Could these people be more oblivious to the world they live in. America today is the poster child for rising socialism.
In socialism, “the government plays a central role by managing resources and providing essential services like healthcare and legal aid, often ensuring that these services are available to all citizens regardless of their financial means.”
Sound familiar? Government now manages our healthcare (Obamacare, Medicare, Medicaid) education (Dept of Education), retirement (Social Security), and more.
They even make our taxes a socialist project with the Earned Income Tax Credit. This is a “program” where the government pays those in a low to moderated income bracket (up to $8,231in 2026). So people get a tax refund even if they paid no taxes. Bottom line these arguments are bogus.
What our esteemed government fears is that they’ll lose control of the money. That’s their career, their life.
It’s what makes them powerful, influential, respected and too often wealthy. The trillions they appropriate from our pay checks and the trillions they borrow on their no-limit credit card (the fed) is all in their control.
The government giveth and the government taketh away.
But if President Trump is allowed to use other funds, tariffs or money “clawed back” from government waste and fraud it may lead to questions. People may start to question if government really needs to appropriate up to half of their income to stay afloat.
These awakened citizens may even question why we need to borrow from a private organization and pay interest on trillions of dollars if there’s another way. And yes, Federal Reserve Banks is a misnomer, not a part of the federal government.
In the end the people may even question if President Trump’s tariff policies aren’t the better option as that would be using income to run the country not debt.
Well government can’t have that, not any of it. Which is why our illustrious leaders are coming up with all their bogus reasons why the American people can’t accept a dividend. It’s why the idea of a tax cut instead of a check is gaining popularity among the ruling elite. At least that would appear to be the generosity of the government, not a dividend.
On the matter of the dividend being a bribe, maybe for some. But when the price of gas is a voter’s only issue, above freedom, above independence, above our Republic then it might be wise to offer a little extra incentive to keep our Constitution intact.
“When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” - Benjamin Franklin
So if you find yourself questioning this $5,000 dividend ask yourself one question. Who will have this money if we don’t get it? Government that’s who. Then under the pretense of taking care of us they will use that money to fund more social programs, will send it to foreign countries for their social programs, or color revolutions, or wars. And at least part ofmthat money would be laundered back to the already wealthy members of Congress, governors, any involved with the theft.
So would you rather they continue passing your money out to social programs, other countries, officials getting kickbacks or would you rather use it for you, for your family.
“If we can but prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people, under the pretense of taking care of them, they must become happy.” – Thomas Jefferson
And yes, if we could stop Congress from “wasting our labors” I would be happy.
And getting a $5,000 check that would have been theirs, that would make me ecstatic.
So, Mr. President, bring it on!
