More than 60% of Americans believe that the Founding Fathers and Framers of the United States Constitution intended for the United States of America to be a Christian nation. I also believe that the founders of Canada had the same intent in mind. When examined closely, the Christian Bible has all of the life lessons one needs to know to have a happy life and a successful government that takes care of its citizens. Christianity is the very bedrock foundation of Western civilization. The key to being a God-blessed nation is upholding the standards and moral values of the people as defined in the Christian Bible.

Sadly, in 2026, 55% of Americans do not believe America is a Christian nation. I cannot accept that view. According to Pew Research, 62% of Americans claim to be Christian, which, in my mind, still makes America a Christian nation. However, having said that, I worry that there is a weakened version of Christianity floating around today that the Founding Fathers might not recognize as Christianity, and I call them CINOs (Christians in Name Only).

It seems that some old-time legacy church denominations and some new-age “Christian” churches have chosen to disregard the biblical positions expressed in Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13, Romans 1:26-27, and 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 when it comes to the “abomination” of sexual behaviors (KJV, or “detestable” in other versions). It seems that some churches are accepting man’s wokeness and the pressure of the Rainbow Mafia to place man’s word above God’s Word as expressed in the Bible.

From my perspective, accepting homosexuals in church as fellow sinners is the Christian thing to do. However, when a Christian church chooses to fly the Rainbow Mafia Pride Flag (LGBTQ++) and celebrate homosexuality by sanctioning and conducting “marriages” in the church, they have transitioned to CINOs. Many of these same churches fail to actively condemn abortion (the killing of humans in the womb), thereby further establishing their CINO credentials.

Reality Check: As Christianity has weakened in Western civilization, the ethics, morals, and values of Western civilization have weakened as well. When a civilization no longer holds on to its ethics, morals, and values, that civilization crumbles.

Throughout biblical history, the Israelites repeatedly allowed their devotion to God to weaken, and they drifted away to worship other gods. For this they paid the price, time and time again. The human beings of today have the same weaknesses and foibles as our ancient ancestors. For the last 2,000-plus years, Western civilization has strengthened and held on to the ethics, morals, and values passed on first to Moses and then brought to us by Jesus Christ. Then about a hundred years ago, communism, fascism, and Nazism came on the scene to challenge Christianity. The German Nazis even developed their own queered version of the Bible. The bottom line is that Christianity began its slow slide down the slippery slope of weakness.

By the end of the sixth decade of the 20th century, the slippery slope got even steeper. Christianity was mostly dead in Eastern Europe due to communism and was dying in Western Europe due to socialism. Now, here we are in the third decade of the 21st century and there are virtually no Christian voices being heard in Europe. Even the Vatican seems to have gone woke and is allowing man’s word to supplant God’s Word.

For the last 100 years, the forces of evil have been fought back primarily by Christians and Jews: the evils of Germany’s Nazism, Italy’s fascism, and Japan’s imperialism in World War II; communism during the Cold War; and Islamism more recently in the Middle East. Now, while European governments fiddle, Europe’s Western civilization is burning down and falling to communism and Islamism.

While in South and Central America citizens are going to the polls and voting out socialism, socialism has captured much of Canada, and in the United States socialism and Islamism may gain a greater foothold. Once again, it will be up to patriotic Christians and Jews in North America to beat back the evils of communism and Islamism to save the free world and Western civilization. November 3, 2026, will be an indication of how big the battle will be to defeat evil and reinstate God’s blessings on America.
