The Politics of Tragedy: Taking Aim At Palin, Beck & The TEA Party

Greetings Friends, "The three biggest fears democrats have heading into 2012 are Sara Palin, the TEA Party and Glenn Beck. Don't get me wrong Rush is of course a giant name but it is Palin, TEA Party and Beck that concerns them the most right now." -Joseph Weber, Congressional Correspondent The Washington Times
From the New York Times to California Democratic Congressman Bob Filner to HBO's Bill Maher the left is blaming Arizona's senseless weekend tragedy on irresponsible political rhetoric and in doing so is strategically targeting Sara Palin, Glenn Beck, the TEA Party and talk radio. Let's take a look at a few possible examples of irresponsible political rhetoric which seems to have been conveniently overlooked by those on the left: "It's tempting not to negotiate with hostage takers unless the hostage gets harmed. In this case, the hostage was the American people." -President Obama referring to republican members of congress- December 7, 2010 "They can come for the ride, but they have to sit in the backseat." -President Obama referring to republican lawmakers in a comment tinged with civil rights overtones- October 26, 2010 "If Latinos sit out the election instead of saying, 'We're going to punish our enemies and we're gonna reward our friends who stand with us on issues that are important to us..." -President Obama one week prior to election day in October, 2010 And from the world of entertainment lets not forget this gem from the always classy Sandra Bernhard in which Bernhard issued a 'gang rape' warning to Sarah Palin when she said in September of '08: Palin would be "gang-raped by my big black brothers" if she enters Manhattan. Few things occur in politics by coincidence including the politicization of a tragedy. What is interesting is that while citing Palin, Beck, the TEA Party and talk radio the left has not tried to tie Rush Limbaugh to the shootings. As congressional correspondent for The Washington Times Joseph Weber pointed out on my radio show,
"The three biggest fears democrats have heading into 2012 are Sara Palin, the TEA Party and Glenn Beck. Don't get me wrong Rush is of course a giant name, but it is Palin, TEA Party and Beck that concerns them the most right now. It is not a coincidence these are the names you are hearing."
Indeed dems are politicizing the tragedy. When James Clyburn the democratic congressman from South Carolina was asked by Brett Baier on FOX News about the need for beefed up security, instead of answering the questions directly he said:
"I'm concerned that we are in an environment where the answer to everything is cut- cut- cut."
...And then there is, President Obama who refused to visit Arizona during the SB 1070 debate but will now make a trip to the Grand Canton State amid calls by the Washington Post and Associated Press to revisit stricter gun control laws. Up Next: HIDDEN GAS TAX- Hardly anyone noticed during the quiet of the Christmas holiday period but republican Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas raised the prospect that EPA efforts to cut pollution at oil refineries would amount to an indirect tax on gasoline, forcing fuel makers to pass the cost of new compliance onto already burdened Americans. As promised in the previous issue we will report on this story in the next AmatoForLiberty barring any late breaking news.
