Good morning guys, and welcome back! How are ya’ll today? We got a little shower yesterday, not much, maybe a ½ inch, but we sure needed it! It’d been awful dry, but except for those couple cold days, the weather has been beautiful. They’re forecasting around 74 to 75 degrees Saturday, and sunny as can be, so it’s lookin as if Deb’s gonna have a perfect day for her cookout! I tell you all what, the good Lord sure smiles on her! Man we’re blessed.
We had a good friend send us some tips the other day, and I thought we’d share them with you all today. Then I picked up a “Farmer’s Almanac,” and dad-gum if it didn’t have some interesting stuff in it too. I love reading one of them though, and we do use it in regards to plantin the garden. Speakin of the garden, we’re pickin up cow manure from where we’d been putting out hay for them. I try to hay them in just 2-3 different spots, and by doing this it allows us to accumulate manure pretty quickly. Plus it’s convenient because we keep this close to our garden spot. We rake our oak leaves too, and we’ll be adding them as well. Over the summer, we bag the grass clippings every so often and this really helps out as a soil builder. Deb likes all this because it’s organic. I like it too, but mainly because it’s…FREE!

It won’t be long and we’ll be settin out some potatoes. I’ve never grown them before. Never. We always have some friends with potatoes, and we’d just do some swappin out. But we want to give em a try this year. Anyway, let’s take a look at some of the tips. Our friend that sent these along to us you guys will probably recognize…John Minn. John has been so helpful to Deb and I both, and we really appreciate being able to call him…our friend! Thanks for everything John! You can create a window box garden by using gutters. Freeze Aloe Vera in ice cube trays for soothing sunburn relief. If you’ll turn your muffin pan UPSIDE down, lay your cookie dough over the tops of them, and bake…you’ll have self-made cookie bowls for fruit cups, or ice cream…whatever. If you’ll install a small tension rod under your sink (like a shower curtain rod), you’ll create a spot to hang your spray bottles. You can bake your cupcake mix right in an ice cream cone. What a treat for the kids. More...

Dub and Deb——

‘Ridin Out The Recession With Dub and Deb in “Miz Judi’s Kitchen’!

Note to Readers: There are a few things that Dub doesn’t know but one thing he does know is that the word ‘Riding’ (as in Riding Out the Recession) is spelled with a ‘g’ at the end.  But Dub not only walks the walk, but speaks like he is: down home, true blue, and plain speakin’ country folk.

Dub and Deb are both native Floridians, live in Central Florida, and run a small business as well. They have five children, and seven grandchildren.

Both love to cook, love to laugh, grow a garden, and generally try to “aggravate” most anyone around them basically…all in good fun, of course!
