If a firebrand like President Trump is calling for cooler heads to prevail, it's time to chill overheated tempers

Trump: "De-escalate a little bit' in Minnesota.
The snippet below caught the president calling for de-escalation in a state that's a flashpoint in the 'hot war' over deportation.
Critics and supporters alike feel Trump is attempting to cool off the 'hot war' blazing in the Minneapolis metro area, especially with nervous voices whispering worries about GOP midterm chances.
Trending reports allege that Pretti was injured a week before being shot by the Border Patrol. It happened during another altercation with Department of Homeland Security personnel.
Revealed: DHS broke Pretti's rib a week ago (The Young Turks).
A severely injured person who's back in the field looks like a zealot to me—if this is true.
Zealotry in and of itself isn't illegal. It can however inspire ill conceived or illegal actions. Time will tell which category the late 'ICE watcher' belonged to.
Decades-long involvement in self defense, volunteer security and citizen on patrol advocacy makes me leery of crossing the line separating advocates from aggressors.
Leeriness isn't being a 'shoeshine boy' for statism. It's not groveling before big government to emphasize citizens cautiously entering-or avoiding-certain scenarios.
High stakes advocacy involves weighing calculated risks. Any error on your or others’ part directly impacts a personal share of what I call 'the Big Three' of life, liberty and liability.
The first 'Big Three' question should be: is the issue worth losing your life over? It might sound melodramatic until facing death or serious injury that you failed to foresee.
Second question: is this situation worth losing liberty (getting sentenced to jail or prison)? Once the smoke clears, you may be charged with a crime. Now somebody else decides if it was justified.
Depending on ideology, the system may take a dim view of your heroics. Dim enough to put you in a literal cage.
Lastly, is the matter worth getting sued over in this litigious society? Imagine paying out hefty sums or taking big hits on credit reports after a misadventure.
One way to cool hot blood is dashing your anger with the cold reality of losing life, liberty and liability.
I type this as an overly imaginative person. Because of an over active imagination, weighing my share of 'Big Three' potential risks is second nature.
America is in a 'hot war' over deportation.
If a firebrand like President Trump is calling for cooler heads to prevail, it's time to chill overheated tempers.
