A Liberal Writer Blasts Obama for Interfering With Voter’s Rights

Kirsten Powers, a pundit of the left, former Clinton Admin. appointee and NY Democratic Committee employee, who writes for the New York Post, a newspaper from the right, admits in her column that the ‘prez’ has no ‘right’ to offer jobs as a bribe to get rid of competition in the Democratic primaries. Wow! Soon we’ll be hearing that James Carville will vote for Alan Keyes.

Chuck Lehman, he of “Chuck on the Right Side” information provider of conservative matters through Internet distribution, sent an email to me with an attachment of the column written by Ms. Powers, as mentioned above which appeared in the NY Post on June 04, 2010. It is very refreshing and enlightening to hear (see) a left-wing supporter put in print something that is very helpful to our country as opposed to the usual promoting more liberal Democrat deficit increasing schemes or tax increases. But there before my very eyes was a photocopy of the entire NY Post article as printed, complete with Ms. Powers’ byline and picture. There was also a picture of one of the “bribe” victims; Andrew Romanoff of Colorado. I don’t have much knowledge of Ms. Powers’ personal thoughts and beliefs regarding her political preferences, but she admits in this column, and I quote, “When I voted for Obama, I voted for him to be president, not for him to use government jobs or perks to drive out qualified challengers in Democratic primaries.” Oh, how I would like to ask Powers if she would like to recant her vote for the usurper-in-chief based solely on his record of “change” that he promised; or if she is one of the dumbed-down sycophants that still believe he is doing a very good job. The last part of which I would ask her to name something good for the country that he has done since being president. But I am probably being too harsh on her by holding her feet to the fire as she might just be what I would hope is on the track for reform and seeing the light of day after 18 months of confusion, deceit, deception, trickery, conduct with foreign dictatorial-type leaders bordering on treason, and packing a staff with tax cheats, known enemies of the USA, and outright frauds, homosexuals, reverse racists, and suspected pedophiles among other faults. Her positions on the ‘job offers’ or frankly, “bribes” are strictly out of the right wing book on correctness. So very little of this matter has taken up much space or ink in the Mainstream Media, which I refer to as the “yellow blank road” due to the cowardly acts of omission of anything resembling negativity regarding this Presidency and his faulty Administration. But Powers forthrightly presented the people’s side of the equation when she stated in the Sestak/Romanoff cases that though many Beltway talkers claim the president has the “right” to clear the field in primaries, only the voters have the right to choose the nominee; backing that up with “We live in the United States, not some Middle Eastern dictatorship (or, apparently, Chicago.)” Bull’s-eye Kirsten! While on her ‘right side’ kick, Ms. Powers railed against the problem of incumbency, which she states “leaves our government a sewer of career politicians… nearly impossible to depose once elected.” To this I might have added in my own words, that it also fosters corruption and dishonest dealings correctable only with proper legislation mandating Term Limits; but changing the word ‘Term’ to ‘Service’. No civilian legislator should fulfill more than SIX years total service, after which they go back home to former job, home and family. Powers goes on that there is much talk “that voters don’t care about this stuff” (bribes); but she points out that falsity by reminding us that over the past year the people’s distaste for “backroom deals over health reform that may have been the final straw in electing Sen. Scott Brown.” In addition to the “questions of just what offers the White House made to clear the way for Andrew Cuomo (governor), and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand” in New York.” Ms. Powers’ last remark, sounding like a veteran conservative, was “Here’s an idea for the Obama White House: Stop meddling. You do your job, and let the American voters do theirs.” Great advice. Maybe the polls (Rasmussen and Gallup) are correct when they show that the country is definitely moving to the right; and bet that conservatism is the controlling factor
