A Classic Herr Goebbles Propaganda Piece

Response to Prime Minister Harper’s Statement on Journee Internationale de la Francophonie

It is one thing to acknowledge a special day celebrating a French language commonality, such as we may some day do to celebrate the increasing global usage of a common English language, but it is quite another to lie about and distort the position of the French language in Canada.

How can the PM say, as he does, that French “links us to our fellow Canadians”? That is a distortion to say the least. Only 17% of Canadians are bilingual and 83% are unilingual English or French. About 23% are of French background. The fact is that the forcing of the official bilingualism French/English policy down the throats of English speakers has become one of the most divisive policies ever instituted by any government in Canada. The French of Quebec sure do not accept such a policy for they have passed many nasty, unjust and insulting anti-English laws (and regulations complete with language police to enforce their illegal laws), now condemned by the United Nations. Five hundred thousand English speakers have fled the province rather than remain and live as second class insulted citizens. Quebec has declared itself unilingual French. The French language links Canadians? Is the Prime Minister suffering from some form of dementia? “Our Government is proud of this country’s bilingualism and cultural diversity and is working hard to implement Canada’s linguistic duality” so says Mr. Harper (abridged statement). He sure is! He is working to ensure that not one unilingual Canadian, especially an English-speaker can get a job in their own country’s civil service or rise above the rank of Major in the military or join the RCMP or any Crown Corporation. How come a so-called Conservative PM is pushing a failed Liberal policy? Talk about “Liberal, Tory, same old Story.” Every unilingual Canadian who comes to realize these putrid linguistic facts (the truth hasn’t been widely understood as yet) will recognize that PM Harper and the Canadian Progressive Conservatives (CPC), excuse me I tend to get mixed up, I mean the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC) has imposed and is promoting a very unjust and unfair policy. To think that a lot of us worked very hard and contributed to get Mr. Harper elected to get rid of Official Bilingualism because he once believed it was a failed policy is maddening. Never again!

Mandarin Class Canadians and Inferior Canadians

Courtesy of the Liberals and endorsed by Mr. Harper’s CPC we are now divided into two classes of Canadians: (1) a minority “Mandarin Class” of superior bilingual Canadians, deemed the only citizens capable of running our civil services and the military (disproportionately French) and (2) a sub-par vast majority of unilingual “Inferior Canadians” incapable and ineligible to participate in the running of their own country. Bloody shameful! Perhaps the most dishonest of any of Mr. Harper’s over-the-top remarks in his Statement is that “French is an integral part of our history, our identity and our daily lives, not only to our fellow Canadians but to French-speaking countries around the world.” No Mr. Harper. French is not an integral part of our history. More than three quarters of our population do not speak it and don’t give a damn if they ever do. Furthermore, millions of our English speakers have bad memories of the murderous and rapacious history of New France and their hundred years and more of massacring our forefather’s families in New England before the conquest in 1759. The French love to recall their past. “Je me souviens” they say (the Quebec motto). “We will remember.” Well, the “English” will now be forced to play the same game. We are through with putting up with the Quebecois everlasting nastiness and our own overly generous one-way attempts to build a better Quebecois inclusive Canada. We too will begin to “remember.” The first step will be to cut off all equalization payments from the rest of Canada and all economic benefits transferred to their province from Western Canada. The second step will be to get the province, excuse me “Nation” of Quebec out of Canada. Enough is enough! We will also “remember” that in more recent times, the Quebecois refused to defend Canada’s (and their Fancophonie friend’s) freedoms in World War I and dragged their feet in WW II while other Canadians were fighting and dying overseas (excepting those great French Canadian volunteers who did fight, in spite of their province’s and P.E. Trudeau’s despicable attitudes). We will also “remember” the 20,000 well trained Zombies; mostly Francophones that refused to go overseas and stayed safely in Canada while our boys died for lack of reinforcements from Canada. How PM Harper and the Quebecois can celebrate their Fancophonie membership with a straight face is incredible to say the least. Realistically, there is no doubt that the Prime Minister’s Statement is designed to elicit votes from the Quebecois and the trans-Canada Fancophonie. However, it alienates most English-speaking Canadians. As to the PM’s statement being truthful, it lies in stinking parallel alongside Herr Goebble’s best propaganda pieces as a prime example of the technique of the “Big Lie.”
