According to new CNN polling, you guys can't wait to vote for Jeb Bush!

The usual suspects in the media have chosen to ignore the fact that - political junkies aside - no one is paying any attention to the 2016 presidential election yet. They're also ignoring the fact that we really only have one or two people who have even announced an interest in running. The early bird gets the worm, so they've decided that it's time for them to start deciding who your eventual candidate will be. We're still around 700 days away from the 2016 election, but that's not going to stop them. ...So let the polling commence.
Our example today comes from CNN, which released a CNN/ORC poll yesterday. According to their findings, voters simply can't wait to cast their ballots for Jeb Bush or Chris Christie.
Jeb Bush is the clear Republican presidential frontrunner, surging to the front of the potential GOP pack following his announcement that he's "actively exploring" a bid, a new CNN/ORC poll found. He takes nearly one-quarter — 23% — of Republicans surveyed in the new nationwide poll, putting him 10 points ahead of his closest competitor, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who tallied 13%.
That sure is impressive. It's even more amazing when you realize that he's managed to climb almost 10 points in the poll since it was last taken in November. Back then, Jeb sat at a measly 14%.

If you're wondering how actual conservatives fared, we have the complete rundown. You'll probably find that anyone who you'd actually vote for is in single digits. So, considering that most conservatives have never met anyone who's excited for a Jeb Bush candidacy, how did this happen? Well, you can learn a lot from the sample group and the wording of the question:
BASED ON 244 RESPONDENTS WHO DESCRIBE THEMSELVES AS REPUBLICANS AND 209 WHO DESCRIBE THEMSELVES AS INDEPENDENTS WHO LEAN REPUBLICAN, FOR A TOTAL OF 453 REPUBLICANS -- SAMPLING ERROR: +/- 4.5 PERCENTAGE PTS. 34. I'm going to read a list of people who may be running in the Republican primaries for president in 2016. After I read all the names, please tell me which of those candidates you would be most likely to support for the Republican nomination for president in 2016, or if you would support someone else.
And there you go. They read a long list of names, and asked respondents to pick one. Bush is clearly the most famous and the easiest to remember. Given the sample size, it's likely that this survey amounts to name recognitions and little else. However, there is a pattern here - one that goes back years. We all know that CNN wants to see Hillary in the White House, so they're about to run the same play they ran with McCain and Romney. I call it the "only man" maneuver. John McCain was the "only man" who could beat Barack Obama, despite preemptively announcing that he would not attack Barack Obama. Mitt Romney was the "only man" who could be Barack Obama, despite the fact that he had already forfeited a massive issue thanks to his support of RomneyCare. Now, Jeb Bush is shaping up to be the "only man" who can beat Hillary Clinton, despite the fact that he served as chairman of the board of trustees of the National Constitution Center - an outfit which awarded Hillary the "Liberty Medal" on the eve of Benghzi's first anniversary. The Center announced their decision to do so by explaining that “Hillary Clinton has devoted her life to expanding opportunities for ‘We the People’ not just in this country but around the globe.” Expect CNN to beat the "only man who can win" drum from now until 2016. After all, who better to challenge your preferred candidate than a man who is on record lauding her lifetime of earnest, honorable, public service?
