Salman Hossein, "Jew masters", Western Soldiers

Advocating killing Canadian soldiers; it’s the right of every Canadian

Among the millions of people who have immigrated to Canada in recent years is a little piece of trash named Salman Hossein. Hossein, a Bangladeshi-alleged Canadian university student with a lot of time on his hands, likes posting his views on the Internet.

He advocates killing as many Western soldiers as possible in order to discourage the West from sending them into Muslim countries. These countries only deploy these troops at the behest “of their Jew masters,” but then we already knew that. Hossein, the brave cyber-jihadist, goes out of his way to state that he wouldn’t personally do this, but he advocates that Canadian soldiers be killed on Canadian soil as a way of furthering his aims. He also can’t seem to understand why Americans are targeted by his brothers in the religion of peace when Jews would make a much better target. When the authorities became aware of Hossein’s postings they swung into action and both CSIS and the RCMP went and had a little talk with Salman Hossein. We don’t know what was said in this little confab, but Hossein continued to spew his venom on the Internet. Presumably he refrained from his postings during his discussions with the super spies and horse riders. When Stockwell Day, the Minister of Public Safety viewed the postings he expressed some anger but then tempered it with the usual Canadian whine about balancing freedom of expression. We can safely ignore anything that Day says about freedom of expression, since he’s hardly an expert, having to have every comment he utters vetted by Steve and his office. No matter what is said, the reality is that nothing much is being done, nor is it likely to be done. This is Canada, an entity that often attends international meetings while posing as a real country. As we all know, the Liberal Party of Canada is split which can be a good thing. No matter what the issue is, some Liberals can always be found on the right side of it and this case is no exception. Senator Colin Kenny thinks that Hossein should be charged and if the law is not strong enough, it should be changed. Hossein could be charged with treason under the Criminal Code. If advocating the death of Canadian soldiers on Canadian soil in order to aid the enemy in the war (yes it is a war as much as many Canadians want to believe that it is a “reconstruction” mission) isn’t treason it’s hard to know what is. Yet a conviction under the definition of treason is unlikely and Kenny presumably knows this. That section requires an overt act to be committed and it is doubtful that posting something on the Internet could be found to constitute an overt act. Even an acquittal would serve the societal function of pointing out the absurdity of our laws and perhaps cause a groundswell of support for changing those laws. We could make it an offence to post on the Internet anything that advocates attacks on Canada or our troops or anything specific that would aid the enemy (and Mr. Hossein’s ideological soul mates must surely be having a good laugh about now).  It wouldn’t be that unusual. It is already an offence to even download a pornographic picture of a 21-year-old woman if she objectively appears to be under 18. If downloading can constitute a crime, there should be no difficulty in making posting a crime in a particularized set of circumstances. Of course, advocating the death of Jews for being the root of all evil in the world could be prosecuted as a hate crime. But hate crimes against Jews are usually reserved for neo-Nazis and the occasional old drunken Indian. It’s way too politically incorrect to charge a Muslim with advocating the killing of Jews. Political correctness has to be the reason why CSIS and the RCMP haven’t laid any charges; the evidence they need is all there in black and white. Hossein is, of course not without his supporters. For example, in a brilliant piece of moral relativism, The National Post’s Lorne Gunter compared his situation with Ezra Levant having to appear before the Alberta Human Rights Commission for publishing the Danish cartoons. Apparently publishing innocuous yet insulting cartoons is no different than calling for the men and women in Canada’s military to be killed on Canadian soil while they are not engaged in battle.  Disgraceful. Despite Colin Kenny’s advocacy, nothing is likely to happen. It will take the murder of a soldier or soldiers in Canada to make Canadians pay attention to this matter. Then the handwringing will begin. And Jack Layton will probably call for supporting our troops by sending them out of the country.
