The video takes viewers through the skyscraper's front doors, into the Welcome Lobby, through a pre-show program that tells the story behind the rise of One World Trade Center, up an elevator called a "sky pod" and into the observatory for panoramic views of the city from the 100th floor. There will also be video presentations on the ground level and on the 102nd floor. The observatory will span 120,000 square feet.
Admission for adults ages 13 to 64 will be $32. The price for children ages 6 to 12 will be $26. Seniors will pay $30, and kids 5 and younger will be admitted free.As we said above, it's taken 13 years to get to this point and - considering the Empire State Building was erected in a year - that feels like a shamefully long time to leave a gaping hole in the center of lower Manhattan. However, if you'd like to watch the skyscraper go up a little more quickly, here's an impressive time-lapse video that compresses the last decade into just under two minutes. Enjoy:
