America is like no other place on earth. No country or culture has ever existed like the culture and society in modern-day America. America is what she is because 56 old White men had the wisdom and understanding of human nature to create those magnificent documents called the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America. These two documents make up the liberty cookbook for America.

That secret sauce is free market COMPETITION

The most important recipe in this cookbook is for the secret sauce that has made America great and so different from the rest of the world. That secret sauce is free market COMPETITION. Competition is the golden key to progress throughout the history of America. Competition built America and the products of American competition fueled the economies of the world, particularly for the last 100 years. Most of the technological advances since 1900 have come out of the United States of America. Why? Competition.

Until the last 20 years, when an airline wanted the best airliners in the world, they looked to Boeing, Douglas, and Lockheed, all American competitors. Today Airbus and others have caught up with American aviation technology. However, the world has not yet caught up with American space technology. No other country on the planet has multiple private sector companies competing in space, all of which do things faster and cheaper than government programs.

America has the best health care system on the planet. Why? Because all providers of medical technology have had to compete to claim their share of the market. The best drugs, the best equipment, and the best treatment wins out over lesser quality. When anyone in the world wants the best medical treatment in the world, they come to the United States to be treated by American doctors in American hospitals.

However, as a sidebar, the socialist Democrats in America are trying hard to destroy the competitive American healthcare system and make it like all the failed government-controlled healthcare systems in most of the world, the systems people come to America to avoid. Those are the same systems where people chose government assisted suicide rather than suffering while waiting for modern treatment. The American socialist politicians are just plain wrong-headed about the failed Obamacare fiasco.

Competition is the secret sauce that saved the western world during World War II and the Cold War. America ultimately “spent” the old Soviet Union into bankruptcy because America had a vibrant competitive environment and runaway technology advances.

Healthy competition is a motor motivated by personal profit. The Founding Fathers recognized over 250 years ago that some humans were lazy and would never achieve their full potential. They also recognized that there were just as many people who would exploit their potential and would achieve great things. The system of government the Founders developed allowed “the liberty” for both extremes and everything in between. That is the foundation for America’s greatness, the secret sauce of competition.
