The Boy Blunder is not off to a good start: Trudeau has turned Canadian against Canadian in a mere two weeks

And Justin Trudeau thought Stephen Harper was divisive

During the lengthy election campaign, Justin Trudeau kept referring to then-PM Stephen Harper as being “divisive.” According to Lil PET, he and the Liberals would unite Canadians rather than divide them. The Boy Blunder is not off to a good start. The divisiveness the Liberals referred to was in relation to, what else, Muslims. Specifically, the Harper government’s position that no one should take the oath of Canadian citizenship with their face covered and the decision that, in bringing Syrian refugees to Canada, preference should be given to Christians and Muslim minorities that face a greater risk of persecution. But Trudeau has done more to divide Canadian against Canadian in the two weeks he has been prime minister than Harper could ever do if he governed for another 10 years.
Trudeau insisted and still insists not only should Canada bring 25,000 refugees into the country but this has to be done before the end of the year, a mere six weeks from now. It is just as important for Trudeau to stick to his artificial deadline as it is for him to provide a new home to 25,000 people. Staying with his deadline is limiting security checks to those that can be done by the end of the year. It is not as though these refugees are under any immediate threat. They will be taken from refugee camps in relatively safe countries such as Jordan and not from the caliphate that, according to Barack Obama, is "contained". Living in these camps is no hell but either is living on Canadian military bases and hospitals that have been closed. Many groups that deal in refugees as well as those in the intelligence field say that proper vetting cannot be possible in that time frame. It takes months and sometimes up to two years to complete proper security checks. But Trudeau does not care; the safety and security comes a distant second to his wanting to fulfill his unrealistic promise. Whenever the prime minister speaks of the priority of keeping Canada safe, he does not appear to actually believe what he is saying. His voice drops. Not only does he not believe he has a duty to keep Canadians safe, he cannot even convincingly pretend he does. This is especially pathetic considering his only real employment prior to entering politics was as a part time drama teacher. You would think he would be a better actor.

The Boy Blunder is not off to a good start

There are naturally a lot of Canadians that are fearful of the refugees that will be admitted to their country and with good reason. ISIS has said they have fighters embedded in the so-called refugees and in light of previous actions it would be extremely foolish not to take them at their word. The reality is it is extremely difficult to vet legitimate refugees. These are people who hide themselves from the authorities that are persecuting them. They often change their names and conceal their identity. They do not have government issued identification because either their government will not give it to them or, more likely, they are too afraid to approach government authorities. This results in them having to purchase false passports. Like anything else, you get what you pay for. While some of these false IDs can be determined to be fakes by glancing at them, others are sophisticated enough that they can only be determined to be false by a proper scientific examination. And these tests take time. When it comes to phony refugees, they are in the same position as legitimate asylum seekers are; false identities and documents. There is no practical way 25,000 people can be properly vetted and brought to Canada before the end of the year. And if some of the refugees are found to be security risks while in this country it will take months if not years to get rid of them. Canada is depending upon other countries and bodies to do the vetting. At least one and possibly more of the Paris terrorists had been given valid travel documents by Greece that enabled them to do what the Greeks wanted them to do; get the hell out of Greece and travel to Germany or France. So Canadians have real concerns with allowing 25,000 people into the country to meet Trudeau’s artificial deadline. But to the prime minister and the left, anyone who expresses any concern is an Islamophobe, a racist and a bigot. Trudeau’s actions are dividing Canadians more than anything Harper ever did or could have done. While the world is seeing what is happening in France and hearing about the threats to other countries made by ISIS, Trudeau is oblivious to any security concerns. Unlike the narrow issues of the niqab at citizenship ceremonies and the stripping of citizenship of terrorist dual citizens, allowing so many people into Canada in such a short time is much more divisive. And this division will last a long time. Trudeau has shown more concern about a deliberately set fire to a mosque in Peterborough, Ontario, and alleged anti-Islam assaults and graffiti than he has about real security concerns. He is pitting Canadian against Canadian in much the same way as Barack Obama has done with race in the United States. And, like the US president, Trudeau couldn’t care less about these divisions or what ordinary people think. He will continue to refer to those who are legitimately concerned about Canada’s security as racists and bigots. Although comparisons have been made between Trudeau and Obama, the two are not the same. Obama knows exactly what he is doing; it is highly unlikely Trudeau the Younger realizes how he is dividing Canadians. He is just not bright enough. But credit where credit is due. What it has taken Obama seven years to accomplish, Trudeau has turned Canadian against Canadian in a mere two weeks. If the prime minister does not give up his ridiculous timeline, he will have divided Canadians far more than Harper ever could. If only Trudeau could realize this.
