A British artist has been shortlisted for a prestigious painting prize.

Forest statement, an oil and mixed media painting, measuring 80 x 80cm by Claire Wiltsher from Hampshire, has been shortlisted for the Gemini Prize. “760 artists applied from 44 countries and 48 including me have been selected to exhibit in London,” says Claire, whose work is in the House of Lords. “This was an international competition with four awards and there is a cash fund of £5,500.” Claire’s book Journeys from the Forest to the Sea will be published by Creative Coverage in 2015.
