Attention Canada: Here's how we need to respond to Trump!

Whether or not we agree with Trump, we need to adapt. Demonizing the president or boycotting American products is pointless and counterproductive.

Here in Beauce, our economy depends on the United States: 65% of our businesses export there. Every tariff threat from Trump provokes a trade war reaction from our politicians, which is SUICIDAL. The USA is ten times our size and less dependent on our market.

Instead, we need to:

-Strengthen our border controls

-Fight drug trafficking

Deport illegal migrants

-Impose a moratorium on immigration

And then renegotiate NAFTA. Trump wants a final "deal", especially on auto parts and dairy products. Let's stop kidding ourselves about supply management; it's a central issue for them.

It's time to find common ground, not fight.
