Sherri Markson: THE ORIGINS OF THE COVID-19 GLOBAL PANDEMIC, INCLUDING THE ROLES OF THE CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY AND THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION

Aussie Investigative Reporter Eclipses GOP Covid Committee

Sharri Markson, Aussie Investigative Reporter Eclipses GOP Covid CommitteeA recently-released book by Sharri Markson, a widely-heralded investigative reporter in Australia, surpasses the findings of a House Republican Committee tasked by GOP Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy to investigate the origins of the Covid-19 global pandemic.  The GOP's "China task force" included: Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas, who led the effort; Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.); Jim Banks (R-Ind.); Andy Barr (R-Ky.); John Curtis (R-Utah); Anthony Gonzalez (R-Ohio); Darin LaHood (R-Ill.); Mike Gallagher (R-Wis.); John Joyce (R-Pa.); Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.); Guy Reschenthaler (R-Pa.); Denver Riggleman (R-Va.); Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.); Chris Stewart (R-Utah); and Michael Waltz (R-Fla.). Dated September 20, 2021, the Committee's "FINAL REPORT" was entitled "THE ORIGINS OF THE COVID-19 GLOBAL PANDEMIC, INCLUDING THE ROLES OF THE CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY AND THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION".
The Republicans focused on (1) the failures of the World Health Organization (WHO), and (2) the obfuscation of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) as the virus spread.  What follows will compare the timelines between the two Covid-19 inquiries.    The range of Markson's 400-page book far exceeds the content of the GOP report.  She takes note of internal U.S. political events during the spread of the pandemic. That includes the role of anti-Trump TV and print news, plus social media.  Most of the media displayed an inbred hatred of the Trump administration. That hatred led them to quickly label whatever didn't fit their chosen narrative as a "conspiracy theory".   Additionally, Markson notes the bias of the Federal Government's IC (Intelligence Community), and Dr. Anthony Fauci's  unchallenged role as the de facto expert on the virus, along with his well-established support of Gain-of-Function research, now being argued-out in public with U.S. Senator Rand Paul.      According to the GOP committee's FINAL REPORT, the "Timeline of Key Events in the Chinese Communist Party's Cover-up" began here:
"December 2019 – January 2020: CCP leaders know about coronavirus but take aggressive steps to hide it from the public, including detaining doctors who warned about the virus and censoring media on the virus."

There are several clues to her timeline that were ignored, or unknown, in the GOP study

But Markson's timeline begins about three months earlier. She states that "community transmission" of the virus likely emerged in October, or in September, 2019. (p. 37)  There are several clues to her timeline that were ignored, or unknown, in the GOP study.

September 12, 2019Wuhan lab deletes its virus database

"Months before the first reported case of human-to-human contact, the Wuhan Institute of Virology began to go dark.  Publicly available information was wiped from the internet.  Staff connected with the Institute disappeared as scientists fiercely criticised its safety practices and standards. At the same time, there were burgeoning social media mentions of a new respiratory illness."  (p. 346)

September 18, 2019: A coronavirus drill was held at the Wuhan airport.

The Wuhan Military Games (a military version of the Olympics) were scheduled to begin one month later, on October 18.
"The Wuhan Military Games executive committee held an emergency exercise where it simulated the responses to a new coronavirus infection found at the airport and a case of nuclear radiation discovered in luggage. 'The exercise included epidemiological investigation, medial investigation, and temporary quarantine.  There are multiple links such as regional setting, quarantine, case transfer, and sanitation treatment,' a Chinese-language article on the Xinhua news site about the drill states. It's quite a bizarre coincidence that in September 2019, right before the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan occurred, there was a test-drill for this exact situation at the airport." (p. 296)

October 11-19, 2019: Blackout at the Lab

"Mutiple sources [based on unclassified open source analysis of commercial telemetry data, geospatial data and satellite images] of evidence then point to a series of incidents occurring at the Wuhan Institute of Virology [WIV] in October. Satellite data shows a mobile phone blackout…between October 11 and 19…Designed to be unclassified, it comprised a 'pattern of life analysis' in the Wuhan Institute of Virology and WIBP compound. The analysis reported 'a large area surrounding the WIV BSL-4 was analysed and findings suggest that during 11-16 Oct, there was a noticeable drop in signals in the area when compared with the week before and the week after. Their road traffic analysis indicates 'traffic closures or roadblocks' for the same time period. 'Device traffic in and around the WIV in the months prior to October was consistent' it states. 'Beginning on October 11th there was a substantial decrease in activity. The last time a device is active prior to October 11th is October 6th.' Images show 'there was absolutely no traffic in the area surrounding the WIV from October 14th – 19th'". (p. 349)

The 2019 Military World Games

Markson adds:
"When the report surfaced, amid the climate of claiming the laboratory leak was a conspiracy theory, mainstream media discredited the analysis that accompanied the data, stating that it was not done by intelligence agencies. This is correct. But high-level intelligence and government sources in both the United States and Australian governments confirmed that the information indicating a blackout of cellular mobile phone data is credible."
October 18-27, 2019: The 2019 Military World Games, known as the 7th CISM (Consell International du Sport Militaire), were scheduled to be held in Wuhan, October 18–27, 2019. Eventually, several international atheletes believe they contracted Covid-19 at the games. (see also pp. 296-301)  The 2019 Military World Games

Litany of events that began on September 12, 2019 suggest that the CCP knew, early on, What really happened at Wuhan.  And kept it secret

The Games were attended by about 10,000 athletes from 110 countries.  This was 21 days before the South China Morning Post reported the first Covid-19 case on November 17. Markson's conclusion began with this statement:
"The world knows China's Communist regime could have done more to save millions of lives. Was it caught off guard covering up a conspiracy then cashing in on the chaos that ensued? There is virtually no evidence that this virus started in the wild. That's not to say it didn't. There is just no evidence to prove it, while persuasive circumstantial evidence points to a likely laboratory leak." (p. 390)
Neither Markson, nor this author, can adjudicate whether a lab leak was accidental or intentional.  But, the litany of events that began on September 12, 2019 suggest that the CCP knew, early on, What really happened at Wuhan.  And kept it secret.
