Paul McCartney's recent White House visit.

Bad Manners

Paul McCartney seems to go out of his way to insult his hosts. Apparently, he didn't learn anything from the bad press he received over his seal-hunt protest here. Now he insults former president George Bush, while visiting the White House.

When Lester Pearson, while visiting the U.S., criticized Lyndon Johnson's handling of the Viet Nam War, Johnson, the crudest president, summoned Pearson to Camp David where he grabbed him by the lapels and snarled, "Don't you come into my living room and piss on my rug." You can say anything you like about your neighbours in your own home, but it's the height of bad manners -not to mention dangerous- to insult them in theirs. McCartney should stick to his music when he's away from home. William Bedford Toronto
