The only difference between # and Obama is that # did not try to blame someone else for his screw-up

Barack Hussein Spicoli

Most people who grew up in the 1980s are familiar with the movie "Fast Times at Ridgemont High". Fast Times was a coming-of-age movie for the Bon Jovi generation. It took place in Southern California, centered around a group of teenagers, and dealt with a variety of teen issues such as drugs, sex, and rock 'n' roll.

ne of the central characters was a pot-smoking, surfing, ne'er-do-well named Jeff #, played by none other than Sean Penn. # was the consummate non-conformist. He wandered through the movie in a drug-induced stupor moving from one misadventure to another. In one of the more memorable scenes, he takes a joyride in a new Chevrolet Camaro sports car owned by the school's star football player, Charles Jefferson. With Jefferson's younger brother in the passenger seat, # tears through city streets while smoking a joint. He demonstrates what is now known as "aggressive driving" by speeding, tailgating, running red lights, and uttering to his passenger, "People on 'ludes should not drive." #'s luck runs out as he avoids a head-on collision with another motorist and slams into a stack of cinder blocks which come crashing down on the Camaro. The younger Jefferson is stunned. He can only say, "My brother's gonna ****. My brother's gonna kill us." # tells him to relax. His classic four-word line is, "I can fix it." Following is a link to the scene: I liken Penn's character to Barack Obama. Like #, almost immediately upon election, Obama proceeded to run roughshod over the country and its economy with no regard for the consequences. When Obama's luck ran out and the economy began crashing down around him, just like #, he thought that he could fix it. The only difference between # and Obama is that # did not try to blame someone else for his screw-up.
