How much do far Left Progressives from the George Soros circle own Obama?

Between Barack and the Hard Spot

"Yesterday upon the stair / I met a man who wasn't there. / He wasn't there again today / I wish that man would go away." - Hugh Means (1875 – 1965)
I pondered some interesting questions earlier this week: Is Barack Obama more of an insurgent candidate than anyone has previously thought? How could the Clinton Campaign so badly “misunderestimate” the Obama Insurgency? Was this a DNC plan to whip up excitement that went awry? How much do far Left Progressives from the George Soros circle own Obama?

I beg the reader’s pardon if this all sounds a bit conspiratorial. I also acknowledge that the skeleton ideas may not be new. But there certainly is a bit of flesh and muscle on those bones now. Oh, I know there is a lot of “black helicopter” stuff floating around out there. I hope that this article remains out of that realm. My aim is to pique interest about an amazing set of circumstances, the implications of these circumstances, and then allow the reader to draw their own conclusions. In 2004, Barack Obama broke into the national political spotlight with his moving and emotional Keynote Speech “The Audacity of Hope,“ at the DNC convention on 27 July 2004. This speech has been compared by some with Governor Mario Cuomo’s speeches in 1984 and 1992. The speech catapulted Obama into National Politics. Barrack Obama was elected to the US Senate that year with roughly 70% of the vote. This is an amazing achievement for a man who served in the Illinois State Senate from 1997-2004 with no outstanding achievements. Obama ran for the US House of Representatives in 2000 and had lost. Prior to that, Obama was a Community Activist in Chicago and a civil rights attorney with a scant courtroom record. In 2006, Senator Hillary Clinton was viewed by many, if not most political analysts, as the almost certain Democrat Party nominee. Many said that her nomination was going to be a “coronation.” President Bush had abysmally low poll ratings. The successful Iraq “Surge” had yet to occur. There were presumably no Republicans strong enough to prevent Hillary’s historic election as the first woman President. There was a lot of hand-wringing going within Conservative and establishment GOP circles. DNC Chairman Howard Dean was taking the Party farther Left. In this setting, the Democrat Party swept into power with Congressional majorities on a host of grandiose promises for change. 2008 was going to be an easy win for the Democrat Party. The Democrat Party establishment began to look at the primary candidate field for a VP choice for the Democrat Party’s post Hillary era. Looking out at the field of challengers: there was that perennial loose cannon, Dennis Kucinich; the aging war horses, Senators Dodd and Biden, the very boring Senator Evan Bayh; and the “Two America” [now disgraced] Senator John Edwards; waffling NM Governor Bill Richardson; and the eloquent, very junior Senator from Illinois, Barrack Obama. The choice was easy. Barack Obama was indeed the “Chosen One.” Barack was the “Chosen One” to be the Vice-Presidential candidate in 2008. It was ideal: a white woman President, and a black man Vice-President. It was a sure recipe for success, a clean sweep with potential for large Congressional and Gubernatorial coattails. In eight years, at age 54, Barack Obama would be groomed, experienced and ready to run for the Presidency and almost certainly become the United States’ first black President. The initial Primaries were not a concern for the Clinton machine. The early loss to Obama in Iowa was followed by a Clinton victory in New Hampshire. “Nothing to worry about,” thought the Clintons. In fact, this was good because it would make the ticket all the stronger in the Fall Campaign. But, the Clintons badly miscalculated the left-wing base of their own Party. The George Soros Money Machine, the Left-wing blogs, the Hollywood Left, Secular Progressives worldwide, the old 60s radicals, and tens of thousands of politically uneducated youth saw the Rock Star potential of Barack Obama. They saw an opportunity to make 2008 “our time” instead of 2016. If they were not successful, Barack Obama would still be the VP pick. Hillary soldiered on. She played the polite game with her future running mate during the debates until it unraveled. All of a sudden, despite the vote counts, she was losing the delegate count and the money was pouring into Obama’s coffers and not hers. Obama‘s motto,” Yes We Can,” became “Yes We Have.” Bill Clinton became edgy and impolite. He at one point stated that Obama’s campaign was a fiction. Was this a “Freudian slip?” Was Bill in fact saying that Obama had departed from the script and was breaking a deal? The electoral fiascos in Florida and Michigan did serious damage to Hillary Clinton and may have been her final undoing at the hands of Howard Dean and the rest of the Secular-Progressives at the DNC. With an arguable lead in total votes, the Clinton’s were experiencing cognitive dissonance that it was already over, that they were history. Recall Hillary Clinton offering second spot on the ticket to Obama after he assumed an insurmountable advantage in secure and projected delegates? The Democrat Super Delegates deserted Hillary in droves, old friends turned on the Clintons … the game was up. The coup de grace was Obama’s refusal to even consider Hillary Clinton as his running mate. “Et tu Obama.” So the insurgency is complete. The far-Left Secular Progressive Socialists, have at last seized control of the Democrat Party. In a masterful stroke of organization, community activism and fund raising right out of the Saul Alinsky handbook, Rules for Radicals, the deed is done. Was this a deftly planned and deliberate insurgency within the Democrat Party? You be the judge. Now, the 600lb. gorilla in the room for the Democrats is Senator John McCain. Politics is a game of chess, not checkers. The chance for a dream ticket, a near certain electoral landslide and a new era of Democrat control may have evaporated. Barack Obama is no JFK and Joe Biden is no LBJ. On November 5th the Democrats may once again be wondering how they managed to seize defeat from the jaws of victory. The Democrat Party may at last be forced to say, “We have met the enemy an he is us.“ Copyright 2008
