Someone's just got to counter the evil forces of Senators like Ted Cruz and, make no mistake, that man is not the sitting President of the United States. That man is Bill Clinton. About a month ago, a strange thing happened. President Obama noticed that you don't like Obamacare, that the country isn't ready for its implementation, and that most Americans would like to see it repealed. As always happens when the great unwashed masses dare to disagree with Barack Obama, it was decided that you were just too dumb to understand how great the Affordable Care Act really is. Since the President isn't very good at offering explanations - or he's just too important to be bothered - he decided to call on a friend for help. He announced that Bill Clinton, America's most trustworthy politician and the man Obama likes to call "the secretary of explaining things," would give a speech to make sure you're aware that you want the ACA to remain law. For whatever reason, you didn't get the message. Maybe you were distracted by Syria, maybe the dismal unemployment numbers grabbed your attention, or maybe you were still busy being angry about the fact that George Bush used to be President. Since it's impossible that you're simply resolute in some misguided judgment against Obamacare, the administration can only assume that you missed what Clinton had to say. Don't worry, though. You're forgiven. Just to show that there are no hard feelings, Clinton will be appearing in New York this afternoon, at which time he'll "explain" it to you ...again. This time, he'll have the current President by his side. He'll speak slowly, employing his down home, aw-shucks, good ol' boy voice and, when he's done; you'll be convinced that Obamacare is not the destructive force you apparently think it is. As one White House official told CNBC, Presidents Obama and Clinton will engage in a conversation “that’s expected to highlight how the health-care law is creating more choice, competition and affordability for American consumers, how partnerships with the private sector are helping make it work, and how and why access to quality, affordable health care is a global priority for citizens abroad, as well as here at home." Won't that be nice? Since we know you don't want to miss the event, it will take place at 5 PM today, and the audio will be streaming below. Enjoy.
