LONDON - “Commuters shouldn’t be held hostage by a union fighting for a birthday bonus every year,” said Ontario PC Critic Jeff Yurek. “The GO bus union is ready to paralyze our economy and inconvenience families.”

Negotiations between the Liberal government and the Amalgamated Transit Union is about to grind GO bus service to a halt on Monday. The union is demanding paid birthdays, and the next day after, off for its members. Hard-working people across Ontario go to work on their birthdays every year, not to speak of the day after. “Right now the taxpayer’s pay billions of dollars for inferior services. The PC Party is committed to getting better value for taxpayer dollars.” said Yurek. “We’ll start by contracting out services like GO bus.” “We’ll treat taxpayers and tax dollars with respect, starting with an across-the-board wage freeze for all government workers.” For more on the Million Jobs Plan, visit MillionJobsPlan.com
