Women at risk

Kaitlyn Brown, in a letter to a Toronto paper, says she is terrified of walking the streets in her neighbourhood because there have been so many attacks on women there. But the police have told her it’s illegal to carry a can of mace or pepper-spray for protection. If the law forbids women who live or work in high crime areas to carry mace or pepper spray, then “the law is a #--a idiot.”

Kaitlyn Brown should arm herself. Better to break a stupid law than risk being raped or even murdered. William Bedford Toronto
