TORONTO, B’nai Brith Canada is urging the Canadian Government to use its influence on the world stage to have Richard Falk removed from his post as the UN Human Rights Council’s Special Rapporteur on the Palestinian territories.
Frank Dimant, CEO of B’nai Brith Canad commented, “Falk’s staunch support for the terrorist organization Hamas, his insistence that the 9/11 attacks were US-sanctioned, and now his posting of a cartoon on his blog that portrays Jews and Americans as dogs make it clear that Falk cannot continue with any credibility as Special Rapporteur.
“We urge Canada to challenge Falk’s position on the Council and encourage other states to do the same. Anyone who is capable of disseminating such statements clearly lacks the judgment, let alone the common humanity, required for a Rapporteur position. We have long denounced the innate biases of the United Nations, but Falk’s offensive actions represent a new low in the institution’s historical record."
