B’nai Brith Asks Why ‘Global March to Jerusalem’ Ignores Real Human Rights Abuses

As the Jewish State prepares for clandestine border intrusions planned by protesters from Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and other countries, B’nai Brith Canada is challenging the proposed destination of the 'Global March to Jerusalem.'

“These illegal intrusions are merely an attempt to steer public focus from the atrocities being perpetrated daily in many Arab/Islamic countries,” stated Frank Dimant, CEO of B’nai Brith Canada. “With thousands of protestors being brutalized and murdered in Syria, for example, the final destination for those truly concerned about human rights abuses in the area should surely be Damascus. “The Global March to Jerusalem has the support of Hamas, Hezbollah, the Muslim Brotherhood and the Iranian government, all of whom share the common goal of seeking Israel’s destruction. This action should be seen for what it is - a public relations stunt designed to provoke confrontation with the Jewish State. “The March is also operating under an entirely false premise. Jerusalem is the eternal and undivided capital of Israel, based on the indivisible historic, religious, and national bonds between Jerusalem and the Jewish people worldwide. Only under the State of Israel’s jurisdiction have worshippers of all faiths been allowed to access their holy places in Jerusalem. “We hope that ‘Global March’ supporters here in Canada organizing companion protests will respect Canadian law and the norms of civil society rather than allowing the dissemination of the type of pro-terror rhetoric that we have seen in the past in similar marches.”
