TORONTO, 20 September 2011 – B’nai Brith Canada commends the fourteen countries that have as of this date withdrawn from the upcoming “World Conference against Racism” at the United Nations, particularly Poland, the current head of the European Union.

“We are pleased to see that Poland in its leadership role is now refusing to take part in a so-called anti-racism conference that has ironically propagated racism and discrimination in the form of antisemitism and anti-Israel ideologies”, said Frank Dimant, CEO of B’nai Brith Canada. “We have already seen Canada lead the way by being the first country to refuse to be complicit in the Durban fiasco, joined by Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, The Netherlands, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States – and now Poland.” “We encourage other countries to follow the lead of those that have withdrawn from this UN-sponsored farce and take a strong stand against prejudice of any shape or form.”
