B’nai Brith honours veterans and current servicemen and women on Remembrance Day

TORONTO, – On the eve of Remembrance Day, B’nai Brith Canada has announced that it will honour veterans and current servicemen and women by expanding the target audience of its well-established Operation Thank You Project. This is a national campaign to encourage Canadians – particularly students – to show support and solidarity for our troops by writing letters to Canadian military personnel serving overseas. The Operation Thank You curriculum guide, designed for students of all ages, will now be offered in French as well as English. This guide underscores the importance of patriotism and civic responsibility, and is a perfect companion resource for Canadian history, geography, and social sciences courses.

“We are proud to introduce the French edition of Operation Thank You,” said Frank Dimant, CEO of B’nai Brith Canada. “In the past seven years, this project has enabled us to encourage people from across Canada to express the gratitude of all Canadians to so many of our troops overseas and at home. Now that the guide is available in both official languages, we hope that it will allow many more Canadians to show appreciation to the brave men and women who serve our country.” “As we pay tribute to the many members of the Canadian Armed Force who fought during past wars – and those who sacrificed their lives on behalf of their fellow citizens – we must bear in mind that Canadian personnel continue risk their lives daily to battle terrorism overseas and defend our great democracy, a service we must always be value and recognize.”
